"A LIGHT TO THOSE WHO ARE IN DARKNESS".
"The LORD opens the eyes of the blind;
The LORD raises up those who are bowed down"
Psalm 146:8
Most of us take our eyesight for granted. To savor the splendor of God's creation through one's eyes is a gift we may not fully appreciate...until it is gone.
Thousand of our fellow Filipinos have lost this precious gift, and the number grows each year. They need the kind of support that will allow them to live normal, happy, and productive lives and to reach the potential that God has for them.
Resources for the Blind,Inc (RBI) is a charitable Christian organization in the Philippines that seeks to provide the care and support that blind persons need. We strive to be a faithful expression of God's love for those who are blind.
Eye screening, blindness prevention, and curing of blindness are important parts of our work. When blindness cannot be cured, we provide counseling, rehabilitation, and livelihood training. For the blind children, we offer preschool program and training for parents and school teachers. Our many special special services include summer camps, computer training, college scholarships, a radio show for the blind, and the production of braille textbooks and Bibles.
Your support and contribution make it all possible.

My half day Journey
This day, I went to assist patients for their laboratory...hoping that the result of their sugar will be fine and also the result of ECG..so that they may be operated as soon as possible.....
Everything goes for a reason and a purpose for every answer...I'm thinking about the calendar of activities this year 2009. I pray that God will give me the courage to make it and to plot activities in my schedule. Now, still waiting for the moment that my mind will direct my hand to write the things that i should do. I have to do it for the sake of thousands of people who needs services on Eye Care.
Before, I was asking myself on what to do in this such kind of moment, but now the changes is I acknowledge God on what to do, and indirect God answer me.Praise be our God, who supply our needs..

"Right to Sight to for Rey Banog"
(Rey at the left ,His Eldest sister at the center and
his Aunt Melita at right)
Every person has a right to see the wonders that our Creator has done!, most specially to a child whose knowledge and capabilities were not yet ready to experience trials and tribulation that reality in the lives of person whose status in life that not so well or may we "Unfortunate".
I've visited a hospital at the southern part of Davao City and I saw Rey Banog, 14 years old,a Congenital Cataract and highly myopic complicated into nytagmus or in laymans term; opacity of his both eye and have a involuntary movement of his eyes, studying in Visual Impairment Sped Center in Bangkal Elementary School. He have given me a chance to talk about his life and a privilege for me that without hesitation he give his full attention in me. In his young age, though he can't talk so well but his actions and smiles give me the signs to know more about him.
While waiting for his turn to be check-up of an Ophthalmologist, he recall back about yesterday that seems to be interesting, like "how did they survive growing in a situation, given that luck is sometimes not coming for them.
They are Five Children and he is the youngest in their family. Suddenly, his parents broke up for some private reasons thats why in a early stage in his life when he was one year old his grandmother adopted him and the rest of his brother and sister and brought them in the place where his grandmother stayed. The description of Rey in their previous place of their house where seems to be cold, more of muds and far from civilization.
He grew up and learned that life isn't really easy but made it happier with the presence of his grandparents who mold him to the extent that his grandparents knows. His guardians acknowledged that there grandchildren needs special attention, but they do not know where to get help.Through to some circumstances like lack of information about what is really the problem that their grandchildren is going through that without knowing that someday it may complicate into other eye problem, that may really affect the Entire Stage of his Growing. Then, after Thirteen years, the grandparents of Rey suffer and died without seeing the truth beyond the eye problem of their grandson.
It was his aunt Melita adopted them, recently lived in Km.11 Sasa, Davao City a appliance sales agent, she also have kids to feed and a limited finance that is enough to to feed her family. She has a kind heart that in spite of their condition in life still they are willing to shoulder all the needs of Rey.She also saw the "need for education", that Rey should be in school, building his skills like the children who go in normal school, thinking what could life after he build his dreams......But Rey needs to be treated first before he can starts building it...
Rey's life is an inspiration that we may pursue our dreams in spite of obstacles. We should be Thankful that God has give us the skills and talents that we may perform all what we want to do..
I beseech you to help Rey's Dream Come true..He needs prayer and a constant prayer for Him....
Plans for Rey Eye treatment:
1. A-Scan Test on his both eyes.
2. Health Insurance that may cover some payments on his billing in the hospitals....
"Target date of Surgery is in December 2009."
May the Lord Blesses all the hands that give heartily to those in need.
